This was a great interview for us.

Mickey Munoz is a Legend and we were fortunate to interview him for our film. Munoz, a historical figure in the surfing world, has been featured in many popular surfing documentaries such as the 2004 film Riding Giants. He currently resides in Capistrano Beach, California and designs boards for Surftech, a manufacturer of epoxy boards.

    Tom Altee:

In 1973 Mickey made me a matching set of boards to travel the world: a 7’2″ roundtail and a 7’4″ pintail. They were shipped to me in Jacksonville Beach from the Hobie factory in Dana Point. Both boards were absolutely magic and I can still feel the rail lines in my mind these 44 years later. I had been surfing 8 years by 1973 and knew my way around a surfboard. But thanks Mickey. Those two boards meant a lot to me. Still do.
